These terms explain the rules for using HolyFrag’s website and free community forum. When creating a new account, you must confirm that you accept these terms and the community rules. Joining is voluntary, and you do not have to keep participating. The privacy and cookies policies explain how information is handled.
The service and your account
HolyFrag is operated by Lukasz Czapiewski in the United Kingdom. Contact hello@holyfrag.com for questions about these terms. We provide a place to discuss, share and participate in a community; accounts and forum participation are currently free.
You must meet the age and legal-capacity requirements that apply to your use of online services and any sign-in provider. If you are below the age of majority, obtain a parent or guardian’s agreement where the law requires it. Do not impersonate someone, use another person’s account or bypass a suspension.
Keep control of your email and linked sign-in accounts. Sign out on shared devices and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for your own contributions and authorised use of your account; you are not automatically responsible for events outside your reasonable control.
Contribute with care
Follow the community rules. Do not post unlawful content, threats, targeted harassment, hateful abuse, sexual exploitation, someone’s private information without a valid reason and permission where needed, scams, malware or spam. Do not interfere with security or the service’s normal operation.
Post only material you have the right to share. Respect copyright, trademarks, privacy and other people’s rights. Link and credit sources where appropriate. Do not upload confidential files; other signed-in members may download files attached to published content.
Your content and the permission we need
You keep ownership of your content. You give HolyFrag a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, host, reproduce, format, display and distribute it through the service, and to translate and moderate it. This permission is limited to operating and providing the community features you use, including making public discussions available through our public interfaces. We may use service providers to perform those tasks on our behalf.
This is not a transfer of ownership or a licence to sell your work or train general-purpose AI models on it. We do not claim rights beyond those needed to provide the service. Your moral rights and any rights the law does not allow you to waive remain intact.
Public contributions can be read and copied by search engines and external clients, including AI clients. Public availability does not give everyone an unrestricted licence to reuse copyrighted material. Ask us about removing your content or closing your account. We will consider your data rights and other participants’ rights, and may preserve an anonymised conversation where lawful. Copies already obtained by others and limited records needed for legal or security purposes may remain.
Moderation, reports and appeals
Translation and initial moderation can use AI. Translations may be wrong, and an approval is not a guarantee of accuracy or safety. Uncertain submissions and attachments go to human review. Moderators may hold, publish or hide content and suspend accounts where proportionate to a rule breach, risk or legal requirement. We record reasons for moderation decisions.
Use the private Report link on a topic when signed in, or email us if you cannot sign in, are suspended, need to report a copyright or privacy issue, or want to appeal. Include the content URL, what happened and why you think a decision should change. A person will review appeals; AI does not decide them. We may act quickly where needed to address serious harm or a legal requirement.
Availability and responsibility
We aim to keep HolyFrag useful and available, but may need to fix faults, change features or pause the service. We will give reasonable notice of significant planned changes or closure where practical. Keep your own copy of anything important.
Members’ opinions and linked services are their own. We do not guarantee the accuracy of member content, translations or third-party services. Take reasonable care when relying on information or opening files. Any separate purchases, external accounts or third-party services are subject to their own applicable terms.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable. Your mandatory consumer and data-protection rights remain unaffected. Responsibility for other loss is determined by applicable law; these terms do not impose a blanket waiver of your remedies.
Leaving, changes and disputes
You can stop using the service at any time. To close an account or request deletion or export, contact us; these requests are handled manually. Suspension does not remove your ability to contact us or exercise applicable rights.
We may update these terms as the service or legal requirements change. We will show the new date and provide appropriate notice of material changes before they apply where required. Changes are not intended to remove accrued rights or apply retroactively to a dispute.
Please contact us first if you want us to resolve a problem, but this does not restrict your right to complain to a regulator or bring a claim. No term requires mandatory arbitration, removes access to a court available under applicable law, or deprives a consumer of mandatory protections in their country. English and Polish versions are provided for accessibility; neither overrides mandatory local rights.
